Facilitator

Laura has had the opportunity to participate in Camp Shout Out since 2014. She worked for the Madison School District for 20 years before retiring and starting her private practice, Spotlight on Stuttering Speech Therapy LLC in 2020. She taught the Fluency Disorders class at the University of Wisconsin (UW)/Whitewater and the Fluency Disorders and Speech Sound Disorders class at UW/Madison for 4 years. She has been a presenter at state conferences (WI and OH) as well as the ASHA National Conference on topics related to fluency disorders. She wrote a textbook review for the Journal of Fluency Disorders and co-authored an article on stuttering services in the school for the Seminars in Speech and Language. She currently is serving on the board as Treasurer of the American Board of Fluency and Fluency Disorders. Laura recently became a resident of Washington State after an impulsive house purchase (December 2022), but continues to travel in a camper van while keeping up with clients through the miracle of tele-therapy. She has two adult children and two rescue dogs and one husband. She enjoys learning French and Italian, hiking, traveling and generally having new adventures with her husband Gary, and her spoiled pooches, Kali and Radha.
